It’s only normal to feel nervous when you visit an unfamiliar place for the first time. At Stones River, we want to do everything we can to reduce that stress so that you and your family can worship freely.

Arriving

You should plan on arriving about 10 minutes before the scheduled time. Please feel free to dress as you feel comfortable. You will find that most people here dress ‘business-casual,’ but we also have those who wear coats and ties, jeans, or even shorts in nice weather. The important thing is not your attire but your desire to meet with a loving God and spend some time in worship. As you arrive, there is ample parking at the front of the building, there are a few marked “visitor” spaces reserved just for you, but we don’t want to “put a target on you,” so feel free to park wherever you like. Our building is handicapped accessible and handicapped parking is conveniently located to the left as you enter the parking lot from Sam Ridley Blvd.

Greeters

As you enter the front of the building you will be welcomed by our greeters. We encourage you to stop by the Welcome Center in the main foyer to pick up more information about the church and for help in finding a class or getting directions. Greeters will also assist you in checking in your children to our nursery (babies to 1 years), toddlers (2-3 years), preschool (4 to 6 years) or our graded Bible Study classes (1st to 6th grade). The greeters will also help you and your teens find classes that will fit your needs. For the benefit of our children, we keep these areas as safe and secure as possible. As always, if you prefer to keep your kids close, you are welcome to worship as a family.

Worship

The worship at Stones River is alive. We worship in a predominately traditional style but we also follow the Biblical mandate to “sing unto the Lord a new song” by including some more current praise music into our worship. Near the beginning of our worship time, first time visitors will be offered an information packet about our church and it includes a visitor response card. If you would fill out that card and return it to us, we would greatly appreciate having a record of your visit with us. Our pastor normally uses the New King James Version of the Bible when he preaches but feel free to bring whatever translation you have and if you don’t have one, just check the back of the seat in front of you, there are Bibles available for use right there. If you don’t own a Bible, just let one of our leadership team know and we would be happy to give you the gift of God’s Word.
